QR Code Placement

More and more retailers are using QR codes in advertising. (See what are QR codes here.)

Should you? And if you do, where should the codes go?

QR Codes can be a very effective tool in print advertising. "QR Codes add relevancy and interactivity to traditional media in a way that has never been possible before." (Deborah Hall)

But where should QR Codes go? Since a QR code is scanned by a person's mobile device, obviously they should be where it is possible to scan it. Billboards or advertising on trains is not a good choice.

Also, if the site that the QR code takes you to is not optimized for mobile, you have wasted your time and your money. People who view sites on mobile devices do not want to figure out how to navigate your PC website.
